Provided are a control method of an autonomous vehicle and an apparatus thereof. According to the present embodiments, a location and a type of failures of each sensor and electronic control apparatus are determined. Accordingly, a riskiness is determined to be one of a first level, a second level, and a third level. Additionally, the autonomous vehicle is controlled based on a riskiness determination level. Accordingly, safety and reliability of the autonomous vehicle as well as safety of a driver can be improved. The control method of the autonomous vehicle of the present invention comprises: a failure determination step; a riskiness determination step; and a control step.

    본 실시예들은 각각의 센서와 전자제어장치의 고장의 부위 및 종류를 판단하고, 이에 따라 위험성을 제1 레벨, 제2 레벨 및 제3 레벨 중 하나의 레벨로 판단하며, 위험성 판단 레벨에 기반하여 자율주행 차량을 제어함으로써, 자율주행 차량의 안정성 및 신뢰도를 비롯하여 운전자의 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있는 자율주행 차량의 제어 방법 및 장치를 제공할 수 있다.
