The invention belongs to the field of bus management and provides a bus stop reporting system and method based on ultra-wideband wireless positioning technology. The bus stop reporting system comprises an electronic license plate; at least three base stations, and a bus stop reporting server. The electronic license plate is pasted on a bus and is used for transmitting ultra-wideband pulse signals. The at least three base stations are located beside a bus lane, are interconnected and synchronized, and are used for receiving the ultra-wideband pulse signals and uploading the time when the ultra-wideband pulse signals are received. The bus stop reporting server is used for generating the real-time coordinate of the electronic license plate according to a preset positioning algorithm and the time, when the ultra-wideband pulse signals are received, uploaded by the base stations, and positioning a bus stop where the bus is located according to the real-time coordinate of the electronic license plate and a pre-stored bus stop coordinate range corresponding to each bus stop in order to report the bus stop. According to the bus stop reporting system and method, signals are transmitted between the base stations and the electronic license plate through ultra-wideband wireless positioning technology and the moving electronic license plate can be positioned highly precisely such that a rate of false bus stop report is reduced.
