In this study, we focus on the intelligent behavior of a soft body and propose a climbing robot inspired by an octopus. The robot can grasp various objects using its flexible arm and can climb ladders and rugged walls. We developed a prototype made of silicone and conducted experiments on it. The results confirmed that the proposed soft arm is effective, and the robot can climb various types of ladders and walls.
