The present invention relates to a control method for steering torque compensation of a motor driven power steering system, which estimates the amount of a change in steering torque according to the endurance reduction of a motor driven power steering system to reduce the motor electric current amount, thereby constantly maintaining the steering feel of a steering wheel, which a driver feels for the motor driven power steering system to be robust. More specifically, the present invention provides a control method for steering torque compensation of a motor driven power steering system, which enables a driver to have constant steering feel by maintaining the initial steering feel regardless of the endurance reduction of the steering system by compensating and controlling steering torque generated by a steering motor as the steering torque of a steering wheel is monitored in real time while driving a vehicle for the amount of a change in the steering torque to be estimated, and the motor electric current amount is reduced as the amount of a change in the friction according to the endurance reduction.

    본 발명은 전동식 파워 스티어링 시스템의 내구 감소에 따른 조향토크 변동량 등을 추정하고 그에 따라 모터 전류량을 저감시켜 운전자가 느끼는 스티어링 휠의 조향감을 일정하게 유지시켜 강건화한 전동식 파워 스티어링 시스템의 조향토크 보상 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 주행중 실시간으로 스티어링 휠의 조향토크를 모니터링하여 조향토크 변화량을 추정하고 내구 감소에 따른 프릭션 변화량만큼 모터 전류량을 저감시켜 조향 모터에 의해 발생하는 조향토크를 보상 제어함으로써 스티어링계의 내구 감소 여부에 상관없이 초기 조향감을 유지하여 운전자가 일정한 조향감을 갖도록 하는 전동식 파워 스티어링 시스템의 조향토크 보상 제어 방법을 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다.
