To provide a vehicle detector capable of suppressing erroneous recognition that two vehicles traveling continuously is a combination vehicle consisting of a towing vehicle and a towed vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle detector includes: an acquisition section that acquires scanning information from a laser scanner installed on a roadside; a vehicle body detection section that identifies a detection range in a height direction of a detection object existing at a vehicle detection position on the basis of the scanning information and detects a tail of a vehicle traveling on a lane; a range identification section that identifies a determination target range for determining whether or not there is a towing bar on the basis of the scanning information after the tail of the vehicle is detected; and a determination section that determines whether or not one vehicle continues to travel on the basis of reflection intensity for a scanning angle and characteristics of the distribution of the reflection intensity in the determination target range of the scanning information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】連続して走行する二台の車両を牽引車および被牽引車からなる連結車両であると誤認識してしまうことを抑制することができる車両検知器を提供する。【解決手段】車両検知器は、路側に設置されたレーザスキャナからスキャン情報を取得する取得部と、前記スキャン情報に基づいて、前記車両検知位置に存在する検出対象物の高さ方向の検知範囲を特定し、前記車線を走行する車両の車尾を検出する車体検出部と、前記車両の車尾を検出した後、前記スキャン情報に基づいて、牽引棒の有無の判定を行う判定対象範囲を特定する範囲特定部と、前記スキャン情報の前記判定対象範囲における、走査角度に対する反射強度と、反射強度の分布の特徴とに基づいて、一の車両の走行が続いているか否かを判定する判定部と、を備える。【選択図】図2
