To provide a vehicle detector capable of suppressing erroneous recognition of two vehicles traveling in succession as a combination vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle detector comprises: an acquisition unit that acquires sensor information from a sensor installed at a first position in a lane direction; a first detection unit that detects a tail of a first vehicle at the first position based on the sensor information; a second detection unit that detects a head of a second vehicle at the first position subsequent to the detection of the tail of the first vehicle; and a determination unit that determines whether the first vehicle and the second vehicle are one connected-vehicle based on an elapsed time from detecting the tail of the first vehicle to detecting the head of the second vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
