To provide a method and a device for supporting energy-saving deceleration traveling which effectively utilize the kinetic energy that a traveling vehicle has, coping with variations due to difference in vehicle types, or in individual vehicle characteristics that may exist even in the same vehicle type.SOLUTION: A method for supporting energy-saving deceleration traveling comprises: learning and correcting provisional deceleration traveling mode comprising mainly coasting to a target deceleration/stop point which is uniformly set regardless of vehicle types or individual vehicle characteristics through actual deceleration traveling for each vehicle; and performing subsequent target deceleration/deceleration traveling to the target deceleration/stop point through traveling in the learned/corrected deceleration traveling mode corresponding to the vehicle and through new learning/correction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
