PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving deceleration-running vehicle and a control method in which the kinetic energy of the vehicle acquired by acceleration running is replaced in regenerative braking running and directly used in coasting to perform deceleration-running.SOLUTION: A coasting completion speed vb is set so that the kinetic energy maximum available efficiency by the coasting β=(vs-vb)/vsand a ratio γ(=vi/vs) between a coasting average velocity in coasting vi(≒(vs+vb)/2) and a coasting start speed vs becomes a constant value or more, respectively. Also, a coasting distance Di is specified by Di(vs)=(vs-vb)/(2*αi(vs)) corresponding to the coasting start speed vs, and a friction brake distance Db is specified by Db=vb/(2*αb), respectively. The deceleration-running is performed by the coasting between from a coasting start point of a target stop-point upstream distance D(D=Di(vs)+Db) to a coasting completion point and the braking running before the subsequent stopping.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
