PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deceleration travel control method that efficiently and readily utilizes kinetic energy that a travelling vehicle has, for deceleration travelling and, furthermore, enables improvement in safety of travelling in the vicinity of an intersection.SOLUTION: The deceleration travel control method sets an interval between a constant distance point upstream of an expected stopping point and the expected stopping point as a deceleration travel area, controls a vehicle to execute mainly inertia travelling in the deceleration travel area, and executes deceleration travel where this inertia travelling, constant speed travelling at an inertia travelling lower limit speed and braking travelling from the inertia travelling lower limit speed are optimally combined.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
