PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision alleviation apparatus for predicting a collision of a vehicle itself with a counter vehicle and further predicting a secondary collision and secondary damage associated with the collision, thus alleviating the collision.SOLUTION: A collision alleviation apparatus, for use in alleviating a shock caused by a collision by determining a possibility of a vehicle colliding with a counter body, controlling drive force when colliding, includes a controller for controlling the drive force. The controller performs: computing a possibility of the vehicle colliding with the counter body; computing a secondary collision associated with the collision; and executing friction coefficient reduction control for reducing a friction coefficient applied to a wheel of the vehicle and a road surface in the case of being determined that there is a possibility of collision, and inhibit the friction coefficient reduction control in the case of being determined that there is a possibility of a secondary collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】自車両と相手車両との衝突、ならびに、それに伴う二次衝突や二次被害までも予測してその衝突を緩和する衝突緩和装置を提供する。【解決手段】車両と被衝突体とが衝突する可能性を判断して衝突の際に駆動力を制御することにより衝突における衝撃を緩和するように構成された衝突緩和装置において、駆動力を制御するコントローラを備え、コントローラは、車両と被衝突体とが衝突する可能性を演算し、衝突に伴う二次衝突を演算し、衝突の可能性があると判断された場合には、車両の車輪と路面とに作用する摩擦係数を低減させる摩擦係数低減制御を実行し、二次衝突の可能性があると判断された場合には、摩擦係数低減制御を禁止するように構成されている。【選択図】図7
