PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a vehicle to travel and suppress the generation of unnecessary shock when a second motor fails out of first and second motors serving as power sources.SOLUTION: A control unit that is configured to select, as a safe mode, one of a first travel mode in which a first motor MG1 is controlled to generate power by the power of an engine ENG and a hybrid electric vehicle travels when a second motor MG2 that is a power source of the hybrid electric vehicle fails, and a second travel mode in which the engine ENG is stopped by fixing means and the hybrid electric vehicle travels by the power of the first motor MG1, switches over between the first travel mode and the second travel mode on the basis of the state of charge of a power storage device while the hybrid electric vehicle is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】動力源としての第1,第2モータのうち第2モータが故障した場合に、車両を走行可能にさせるとともに、不必要なショックが生じることを抑制する。【解決手段】ハイブリッド車両の動力源である第2モータMG2が故障した場合に、エンジンENGの動力で第1モータMG1を発電させるとともに走行する第1走行モードと、固定手段によってエンジンENGを停止させて第1モータMG1の動力で走行する第2走行モードとのうちいずれか一方を退避走行モードとして選択するように構成された制御装置において、停車中に、蓄電装置の充電量に基づいて第1走行モードと第2走行モードとを切り替える。【選択図】図1
