The invention discloses a hybrid power ship propulsion system which comprises an oil control loop and an electric control loop, a power source of the oil control loop is a diesel engine set, the diesel engine set is connected with a gearbox set through a clutch and a propulsion motor set, a power source of the electric control loop is a power generator, and the power generator is connected with a propulsion controller set. The propulsion controller unit is connected with a propulsion motor unit, the propulsion motor unit is connected with gear box sets, the gear box sets are all connected with propulsion devices, the power control unit is connected with a disengagement and engagement controller, and the disengagement and engagement controller controls engagement or disengagement of a clutch. According to the invention, the connection between the propulsion motor set and the diesel engine set is controlled through the engagement or disengagement of the clutch, and the switching between diesel propulsion and electric propulsion is realized, so that the electric propulsion can be used for providing power during low-speed sailing, and the condition of insufficient combustion of the diesel engine at low-speed sailing speed is avoided.
