The invention discloses a novel ship hybrid propulsion system which is composed of a propeller, a magnetic coupling propulsion device, a prime mover for propulsion, a coupling control device, a variable-frequency speed regulation device, a protection and operation management device, a generator set, other loads and the like, and the magnetic coupling propulsion device absorbs mechanical energy from the prime mover for propulsion and absorbs electric energy from the variable-frequency speed regulation device; compared with a traditional ship hybrid propulsion system coupled with a mechanical gear box, the hybrid propulsion system has the advantages that a mechanical propulsion and electric propulsion coupling device is simple, small in size, light in weight, low in vibration noise, simple in mechanical and electric propulsion switching, capable of recycling energy, good in economical efficiency and the like. The ship propulsion system is especially suitable for ship propulsion with high index requirements for performance indexes such as the size, the weight, the vibration noise and the power supply reliability of the propulsion system.
