The manipulator comprises a telescopic mechanism and a clamping mechanism. When the UUV and the mother station are in underwater butt joint and recovery, the manipulator is continuously switched to be transited to a collection state, a butt joint preparation state and a grabbing state through action matching of the telescopic mechanism and the clamping mechanism, and underwater recovery work of the UUV is completed. The manipulator has the characteristics of underwater sealing, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, stain resistance and good maneuverability, also has a buffering function during collision, and meets the underwater butt joint and recovery requirements of the UUV and a mother station.
