An apparatus and method for estimating pitch of a vehicle relative to a road. The apparatus includes: a wheel speed sensor unit that acquires wheel speed data; an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor section that acquires IMU data; a preprocessing unit that extracts a stop section and a movement section on the basis of the wheel speed data and the IMU data; and a gradient estimation section that estimates a vehicle pitch in a stop section and a road gradient in a movement section, and estimates a pitch of the vehicle with respect to the road based on the vehicle pitch and the road gradient.
