The invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling behavior of an autonomous vehicle. The input device is configured to receive an amount of operation of a behavior of the autonomous vehicle by a driver, and the controller is configured to control the autonomous vehicle when the autonomous vehicle is traveling in an autonomous vehicle mode. An operation amount of a driver is received through an input device, a collision with a surrounding vehicle is predicted based on the operation amount of the driver, and the operation amount of the driver is adjusted to prevent the collision with the surrounding vehicle.
