According to the probe type obstacle detection device for the high-altitude cable climbing robot, disclosed by the invention, after the structure is adopted, needle valves are fixedly connected with the elastic connecting blocks while a cable is completely detected in the complete circumferential direction, the needle valves and the inductive switch connecting blocks can be connected in a floating and elastic supporting way, and 6-DOF (Degree Of Freedom) motion in space can be realized under an elastic supporting action of the elastic connecting blocks, so that the situation that spherical contact points can be in contact with ball sockets in the inductive switch connecting blocks in any posture at any position while the probe is in contact with an obstacle of any shape at any position can be ensured, and a switching value signal is generated.
