The invention discloses a turnover type main body structure for a wall climbing robot. The turnover type main body structure comprises a frame, a turnover mounting device and a cleaner main body. The turnover mounting device is of a non-bottom-face box type structure. One end of the turnover mounting device is connected with the front end of the frame through hinges, and bent bodies are arranged at the other end of the turnover mounting device. Supporting bodies are arranged at the positions, corresponding to the bent bodies, of the frame, and the bent bodies and the supporting bodies are matched to form openable connection. The cleaner main body is arranged in the center of the turnover mounting device. The turnover mounting device drives the cleaner main body to turn over relative to the frame with the position connected with the frame through the hinges as a rotating shaft. A traditional integrated structure is changed, and the jet angle and the jet range of water in the cleaner main body are adjusted by adjusting the turnover angle of the turnover mounting device. The turnover type main body structure is more flexible, wide in cleaning range and high in work efficiency, and has wide application prospects on the aspects of cleaning of ships, large tanks and the like.
