Good dynamic behaviour of rail vehicles is one of the fundamental problems of high speeds ; indeed, it is essential for bogies to be stable so that forces exerted on vehicle and track may be as low as possible.

Just as in the case of problems of comfort, those of stability are also resolved on the SNCF by carrying out theoretical research and tests in the laboratory and on the line.
