Characteristics of pantograph, which are directly linked to those of catenary, were determined in tests using special car with measuring and recording apparatus; results showed that FAIVELEY AM type pantograph provides solution to problem of high speeds because of its simple kinematic form achieved with minimum number of joints and component parts; addition of hydraulic damper controlling movement of articulated system of pantograph improves quality of current collection under critical speed conditions.
