The Navy NOVA-1 satellite is scheduled to be launched on a Scout Launch vehicle from the Western Test Range. The NOVA-1 is the first in a new series of improved Transit Navigation Satellites. The satellite will be placed in an elliptical polar transfer orbit of 200.1 by 535.0 NM, period 98.369 minutes, at an inclination of 90.0 degrees. A multiple burn hydrazine motor will then be used to raise and circularize the orbit to approximately 600 NM.
