The integrated flight control system FRG 70, based on the theory of complete state feedback, provides for the requisite passenger comfort and control characteristics. It is superior to conventional flight controllers (autopilot and thrust controller), especially during steep approaches. The design principles, operating characteristics, application to direct lift control (DLC), and requisite pilot displays are described. (Author)
