Wireless transfer of power is feasible in places where using conventional wire is difficult to transfer energy. In this research paper, we addressed the challenges of wireless power transfer in Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV’s). WPT in air is of major focus in literature studies and in underwater WPT studies are still in research stage. Various modes of transferring power to AUV’s also mentioned. The design limitations and how to overcome the issues when taken practically is considered. Design of Inductive wireless power transfer IWPT in AUV’s when subjected to sea water environment is also considered. The best compensation topologies for charging the AUV’s and their analytical formulas are presented. The best practice of the IWPT method is concluded at the end of the article.
