The shift towards automated driving will cause ride comfort to become even more important for premium class vehicles in the future. This research involves the design, implementation, analysis, and testing of a new vertical dynamics controller for vehicles, combining sky-hook control and lotus modal control. The objectives of the controller are to achieve simplicity for easy tuning during the development, while pro-viding the best possible ride comfort and road-holding. Modal analysis of the suspension system, as well as virtual and real vehicle testing of the new controller are conducted in the scope of this research.
