This paper describes a driving torque distribution method for an All-Wheel Drive type Electric Vehicle. Torque splitting between front and rear drive is done based on weight distribution of the vehicle, accelerating condition and road gradient angle considering longitudinal forces. A model for this objective is created using MATLAB Simulink. The load movements are estimated by detecting the various components of normal force on the wheels, accelerations, and the rolling friction coefficient between the wheel and the road surface. Outcomes from the project gives a clear requirement of front and rear axle torque values.
