Provided are an apparatus for controlling regenerative braking of a hybrid vehicle and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus comprises: a gradient calculation unit calculating a gradient based on air resistance, rolling resistance, acceleration resistance, and vehicle output with respect to a vehicle; an acceleration determination unit determining whether or not a current vehicle speed is more than a delayed vehicle speed; a safety distance calculation unit calculating a safety distance in accordance with a distance from a vehicle ahead and the current vehicle speed; a regenerative braking amount calculation unit determining whether or not the regenerative braking is performed in accordance with a calculation result and a determination result and whether or not an accelerator pedal and a braking pedal are input and calculating downhill regenerative braking amounts and regenerative braking amounts for securing the safety distance; and a regenerative braking performance unit controlling the regenerative braking to be performed at a large value among the calculated regenerative braking amounts.

    하이브리드 차량의 회생제동 제어장치 및 그 방법이 제공된다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 하이브리드 차량의 회생제동 제어장치는 차량에 대한 공기저항, 구름저항, 가속저항 및 차량출력을 기초로 경사도를 산출하는 경사도 산출부; 현재차속이 지연된 차속보다 큰지의 여부를 판단하는 가속판단부; 전방 차량과의 거리 및 현재차속에 따른 안전거리를 산출하는 안전거리 산출부; 산출 결과 및 판단 결과, 및 가속페달 및 제동페달의 입력여부에 따라 회생제동 여부를 결정하여 내리막 회생제동량 및 안전거리 확보를 위한 회생제동량을 산출하는 회생제동량 산출부; 및 산출된 회생제동량 중에서 큰 값으로 회생제동을 수행하도록 제어하는 회생제동 수행부;를 포함한다.
