To provide a method for controlling an active shock absorber (6) of a road vehicle (1).SOLUTION: Each active shock absorber (6) is a part of a suspension (5) that connects a vehicle body frame (4) to a hub (3) of a wheel (2) and is provided with an actuator (10). A control method includes: a step which obtains longitudinal acceleration (ax) and lateral acceleration (ay) of a road vehicle (1); a step which determines a desired decrease (hb-TGT) in a center of gravity (B) of the road vehicle (1) in accordance with the longitudinal acceleration (ax) and the lateral acceleration (ay); and a step which controls the actuator (10) of each active shock absorber (6) so as to obtain the desired decrease (hb-TGT) of the center of gravity (B).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
