To provide a method that can accurately evaluate a tire characteristic.SOLUTION: In a tire characteristic evaluation method having: a rolling step of causing a tire to roll on a test road surface having a protrusion; a measurement step of measuring axial force of the tire in the rolling step by a sensor measuring the force; and an evaluation step of performing a curve fit to a waveform in a time series change of the axial force measured in the measurement step, a start point of an object part of the curve fit in the waveform is identified on a magnitude relationship between first four peaks of the waveform and first four bottoms thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
