To provide a method capable of evaluating the vibration characteristic of a rotating tire more accurately.SOLUTION: A tire vibration characteristic evaluation method for additionally vibrating a tire T with additional vibration means 11 to detect the vibration of a tire T, comprises: additionally vibrating a rotating tire T with the additional vibration means 11; detecting the additional vibration with a vibration sensor 12 provided in the additional vibration means 11; detecting the vibration of the surface of the tire T in a non-contact manner with a non-contact sensor 20 away from the tire T; and calculating a frequency response function as a ratio of the Fourier spectrum of the vibration of the surface of the tire to the Fourier spectrum of the additional vibration.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
