The plurality of pieces of imaging means image a landing hall of each of the plurality of passenger conveyors. The determination means analyzes images captured by the plurality of pieces of imaging means to determine a congestion degree of the landing hall of each of the plurality of passenger conveyors. When a passenger conveyor whose congestion degree of the landing hall exceeds a predetermined upper limit is detected, the speed control means makes the passenger conveyor be operated at a second speed faster than a first speed, which is a standard speed, and makes one of other passenger conveyors being operated at the first speed be operated at a third speed slower than the first speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】乗客コンベアの乗場における乗客の滞留を抑制しながら、複数台の乗客コンベアのトータルの消費電力増大を抑制する。【解決手段】実施形態に係る乗客コンベアの速度制御システムは、複数台の乗客コンベアの運転速度を統合的に制御する乗客コンベアの速度制御システムであって、複数の撮影手段と、判定手段と、速度制御手段と、を備える。複数の撮影手段は、複数台の乗客コンベアの各々の乗場を撮影する。判定手段は、複数の撮影手段により撮影された画像を解析し、複数台の乗客コンベアの各々の乗場混雑度を判定する。速度制御手段は、前記乗場混雑度が所定の上限値を超えた乗客コンベアが検知されると、該乗客コンベアを標準速度である第1の速度よりも速い第2の速度で運転させるとともに、第1の速度で運転中の他の乗客コンベアのうちの1台を、第1の速度よりも遅い第3の速度で運転させる。【選択図】図1
