PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable speed passenger conveyor system, which is operated at conveyance speed at which the system appropriately corresponds to a passenger's request.SOLUTION: An escalator 10, a passenger conveyor system is equipped with: an operator 42, provided at a predetermined position in front of a landing position 12, which is normally set to normal conveyance speed and allows conveyance speed V of a conveyance passage 18 to be changed in a continuous change range by operation by a passenger 8; and a speed variation control device 70 which acquires an operated state of the operator 42, and sets the conveyance speed V of the conveyance passage 18 in a predetermined range between the maximum speed and the minimum speed, according to the acquired operated state. Further, the escalator is equipped with a photographing device 44 for photographing a state of the passenger 8 who operates the operator 42. The speed variation control device 70 performs settings for reducing speed requested for the operator set according to the operated state of the operator 42 in a predetermined range, complying with a predetermined speed-reduction reference, on the basis of a photographed image 46 by the photographing device 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】可変速乗客コンベアにおいて、乗客の要望に適切に対応する搬送速度で運行することである。【解決手段】乗客コンベアシステムであるエスカレータ10は、乗場口12の手前の所定位置に設けられ、通常は通常搬送速度に設定されており、乗客8の操作によって搬送路18の搬送速度Vを連続的な変更範囲で変更できる操作子42と、操作子42の操作状態を取得し、取得した操作状態に応じ予め定めた最高速度と最低速度の範囲内で、搬送路18の搬送速度Vを設定する速度可変制御装置70とを備える。さらに、操作子42を操作する乗客8の状態を撮像する撮像装置44を備え、速度可変制御装置70は、撮像装置44の撮像画像46に基づき、予め定めた所定減速基準に従って、操作子42の操作状態に応じて設定された操作子要望速度を所定範囲で減速する設定を行う。【選択図】図1
