The setting unit 20C sets a target value Dt of an inter-vehicle distance D to a minimum value Dcalculated according to a vehicle velocity v2 of the subsequent vehicle 2 detected by a detection unit 21 on the basis of information acquired by the acquisition units 10A, 20A when braking performance of the subsequent vehicle 2 is equal to or higher than the braking performance of the preceding vehicle 1, and sets the target value Dt of the inter-vehicle distance D to the sum of a correction value C calculated according to the respective braking performances of the preceding vehicle 1 and the subsequent vehicle 2 and the minimum value Dwhen the braking performance of the subsequent vehicle 2 is lower than the braking performance of the preceding vehicle 1. 【課題】隊列走行における車間距離を適正化する。【解決手段】隊列走行制御システムは、先行車1とこれに追従走行する後続車2との隊列走行を制御するものであって、検出部12と取得部10A,20Aと設定部20Cと制御部20Bとを備えている。設定部20Cは、取得部10A,20Aで取得された情報に基づき、後続車2の制動性能が先行車1の制動性能以上である場合に、車間距離Dの目標値Dtを、検出部21で検出された後続車2の車速v2に応じて算出した最小値Dminに設定し、後続車2の制動性能が先行車1の制動性能よりも低い場合に、車間距離Dの目標値Dtを、先行車1及び後続車2の各制動性能に応じて算出した補正値Cと最小値Dminとの合算値に設定する。制御部20Bは、車間距離Dが目標値Dtとなるように後続車2の走行状態を制御する。【選択図】図1
