PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a column if a vehicle outside of a column breaks into the column during travel of a plurality of vehicles forming the column by using inter-vehicle communication.SOLUTION: In a column travel control system and a column travel control method for controlling a travel state of vehicles in column travel in which a plurality of vehicles V1, V2, ..., Vn travel forming a column using inter-vehicle communication devices, if another vehicle outside of the column breaks into between any vehicles Vi-1 and Vi in the column during column travel, they maintain the column by making a column front vehicle V1 which has recognized the occurrence of interruption by inter-vehicle communication set the maximum speed of its vehicle to a travel speed of the column follow-on vehicle Vi broken into right before, and travel.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】複数の車両が車車間通信を用いて隊列を組んで走行中、隊列内に隊列外の他車両の割り込みが発生した場合に、隊列を維持する。【解決手段】複数の車両V1、V2、…、Vnが車車間通信装置を用いて隊列を組んで走行する隊列走行で車両の走行状態を制御する隊列走行制御システムおよび隊列走行制御方法において、隊列走行中に隊列内の任意の車両Vi−1とViとの間に隊列外の他車両が割り込んだ場合に、割り込み発生を車車間通信で察知した隊列先頭車V1が自車両の最高速度を直前に割り込まれた隊列後続車Viの走行速度に設定して走行することで隊列を維持する。【選択図】図4
