To provide an escalator foot step inhibition system that is able to inhibit a user from walking on foot steps.SOLUTION: An escalator footstep walk inhibition system comprises: a footstep walk determining device 7A that determines whether a user 4 is walking on foot steps 12 or not; and a point giving device 63 that gives a point to an electronic medium 5 corresponding to the user 4, when the footstep walk determining device 7A determines that the user 4 is not walking on the foot steps 12. The footstep walk determining device 7A has: an upper-step-side terminal device 2 that communicates with the electronic medium 5 in a contactless manner, and a lower-step-side terminal device 3 that communicates with the electronic medium 5 in a contactless manner. Using information about an upper-step-side communication time at which the upper-step-side terminal device 2 has communicated with the electronic medium 5 in a contactless manner and information about a lower-step-side communication time at which the lower-step-side terminal device 3 has communicated with the electronic medium 5, it is determined that the user 4 has walked on the foot steps 12 or not.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
