PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact absorption member having excellent impact absorption performance in the front of a vehicle, and excellent in rigidity against impact from the side face thereof.SOLUTION: A bumper reinforcement 100 comprises: a front plate 3; a rear plate 4 arranged nearly in parallel with the front plate 3; and plural connection plates 6 connecting the front and rear plates 3 and 4 at the prescribed intervals. In the cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the connection plate 6, the front plate 3 is equipped with a flange part 5 extending outside a position connecting with the connection plate 6, and a rib 2 extending from the end part 1 of the flange part 5 toward the rear plate 4. Preferably, the rib has such a shape that the relation of a rib side length Lr (mm) with a rib plate thickness w1 (mm) satisfies (Lr×w1)≤100(mm). Besides, the plate thickness of a front thick wall part 3a may be thicker than that of a front thin wall part 3b, and the plate thickness of a rear thick wall part 4a may be thicker than that of a rear thin wall part 4b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】車体正面において優れた衝撃吸収性能を有するとともに、側面からの衝撃に対して剛性に優れた、衝撃吸収部材を提供する。【解決手段】バンパーリーンフォースメント100は、正面板3と、正面板3と略平行に配置された背面板4と、正面板3及び背面板4を所定の間隔で連結する複数の連結板6と、を備える。連結板6の長手方向と垂直の断面において、正面板3は、連結板6との接続位置の外側に延びるフランジ部5と、フランジ部5の端部1から背面板4に向かって延びるリブ2を備える。リブにおけるリブ辺長Lr(mm)とリブ板厚w1(mm)との関係が(Lr×w1)≦100(mm2)になるような形状であることが好ましい。正面肉厚部3aの板厚は、正面肉薄部3bより厚くてもよく、背面肉厚部4aの板厚は、背面肉薄部4bより厚くてもよい。【選択図】図3
