To provide an impact absorption member which can suppress the reduction of an absorbable impact energy.SOLUTION: An impact absorption member comprises a cylinder body 11 whose cross section is formed into a polygonal shape. The cylinder body 11 has a closed space therein by welding edges by folding a metal plate 13 at a plurality of points. A reinforcing part 14 extending along a plurality of ridge lines of the cylinder body 11 is arranged on the ridge lines. When an impact is imposed in a direction in which a center line of the cylinder body 11 extends, the impact absorption member absorbs the impact energy through the buckling of the cylinder body 11. On the ridge lines located adjacent to a point in which the edges of the metal plates 13 in the cylinder body 11 are joined, the reinforcing parts 14 are not present, and these areas serve as unreinforced parts 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】吸収できる衝撃エネルギが小さくなることを抑制できる衝撃吸収部材を提供する。【解決手段】衝撃吸収部材は、横断面が多角形状となる筒体11を備える。筒体11は、金属板13を複数箇所で折り曲げて縁同士を溶接することにより、内部に閉空間を有するものとされる。筒体11における複数の稜線上には、それら稜線に沿って延びる補強部14が設けられている。衝撃吸収部材は、筒体11の中心線の延びる方向に衝撃が加わったとき、筒体11が座屈することによって衝突エネルギを吸収する。筒体11における金属板13の縁同士を接合した箇所の隣に位置する稜線上は、上記補強部14のない無補強部15となっている。【選択図】図1
