PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visual recognition direction estimation device which can make an estimation result in a visual recognition direction follow quick change of a visual recognition direction.SOLUTION: A visual recognition direction estimation device 14 (ECU) comprises: a storage part for storing a transition probability between visual recognition directions of a driver of a vehicle; a reception part for receiving an observation value related to a face or a sight line of the driver of the vehicle; an update part for, on the basis of an observation value at a first time and an observation value at a second time later than the first time, updating the transition probability from the visual recognition direction at the first time to the visual recognition direction at the second time; a calculation part for, by a hidden Markov model, according to the updated transition probability, calculating a state probability of transition to the visual recognition direction at the second time, from the visual recognition direction at the first time; and an estimation part for, on the basis of the calculated state probability, estimating the visual recognition direction at a time on and after the second time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
