PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to intuitively recognize a target direction.SOLUTION: A current position in doors is acquired with a GPS unit 108 or the like, and image information for displaying an image such as an outdoor street seen from the current position in each direction is acquired from a server through a radio communication unit 101. A sensor unit 106 detects the direction (back surface direction) in which the back surface of a portable terminal 1 is directed when the portable terminal 1 is held vertically. An image processing unit 112 displays the detected image in the back surface direction on a display unit 109D using the image information acquired from the server, and allows an indoor user to recognize an outdoor normal state.

    【課題】目的とする方向はどちらの方向なのかを、ユーザーが直感的に認識可能にする。【解決手段】 屋内に置ける現在位置を、GPS部108などを通じて取得し、この現在位置から各方向に見える屋外の街並みなどの画像を表示するための画像情報を、無線通信部101を通じてサーバーから取得する。携帯端末1が垂直保持されている場合の携帯端末1の背面が向けられた方向(背面方向)をセンサ部106が検出する。この検出した背面方向の画像をサーバーからの画像情報を用いて、画像処理部112が、表示部109Dに表示し、屋内にいながら屋外の通常の状態を認識可能にする。【選択図】図1
