PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstep of an escalator and an escalator in which material and material property of an impact absorption cleat installed at a corner portion of the footstep of the escalator is chosen to prevent aggravation of an injury of a passenger even when the passenger falls and his/her head collides with the corner portion of the footstep, and prevent a partial deformation thereof capable of preventing breakage of other components.SOLUTION: A footstep 1 of an escalator includes: a tread 2 having a body part 6 in which a plurality of parallel mountains 8 are aligned in the width direction; a riser portion 3 which is connected to one end of the body part 6; and an impact absorption cleat 5 which is installed at a notch portion 7 formed at a corner portion where the tread and the riser portion are coupled to each other and which is formed by a polymeric material having 1,000 MPa or lower of a Young's modulus. The cleat 5 includes a plurality of crest parts 11, 12 arranged in parallel and one end part of which matches the edge part of the mountain 8 in the body part 6. A portion where the edge parts of the mountain 8 matches the crest parts 11, 12 of the impact absorption cleat 5 can maintain, when a crosswise force is applied to the crest parts 11, 12, the matching status.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】エスカレータ踏段の角部に設ける衝撃吸収用クリートの材料およびその材料特性を選定することにより、乗客が転倒して踏段の角部に頭部が衝突しても怪我の重篤化を確実に防ぐことができると共に、その部分的な変形を防止して、他の部品の損傷を防止できるエスカレータ用踏段及びエスカレータを提供する。【解決手段】エスカレータ用踏段1は、平行な複数条の山8が幅方向に配列された本体部6を有する踏板2の、本体部6の一端に蹴上げ部3結合され、これらが結合される角部の切欠き部7に、ヤング率が1000MPa以下の範囲の高分子材料によって形成される衝撃吸収用クリート5が設けられ、このクリート5は、一端部が本体部6の山8の端部と合致するように平行配置された複数の山部11,12を有する。また、山8の端部と衝撃吸収用クリート5の山部11,12とが合致する部分を、山部が11,12横方向の力を受けたとき、合致状態を維持できる構造とした。【選択図】図3
