PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve acceleration feeling (acceleration feel) during acceleration by appropriately controlling an engine rotating speed in a hybrid electric vehicle.SOLUTION: A hybrid electric vehicle provided with an engine 100, a battery 500, a generator MG1, and a motor MG2 and driving the motor MG2 using electric power generated by the engine 100 so that the hybrid electric vehicle can travel, comprises a vehicle control ECU 600 that sets the target rotating speed of the engine 100 during acceleration. The vehicle control ECU 600 sets the target rotating speed of the engine 100 so as to increase in proportion to lapsed time from time at which the rotating speed of the engine 100 reaches a threshold rotating speed when the engine rotating speed reaches the threshold rotating speed, and sets a proportionality factor on the basis of at least one of the degree of opening of an accelerator, a vehicle velocity, the engine rotating speed, and a state of charge of the battery 500.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】ハイブリッド自動車において、エンジン回転数を適切に制御して加速時における加速フィーリング(加速感)を向上させる。【解決手段】エンジン100と、電池(バッテリ)500と、発電機MG1、モータMG2とを備え、エンジン100により発電した電力を用いてモータMG2を駆動して走行するハイブリッド自動車において、加速時においてエンジン100の目標回転数を設定する車両制御ECU600を備える。車両制御ECU600は、エンジン回転数がしきい回転数に達した場合に、エンジン100の目標回転数をしきい回転数に達した時点からの経過時間に比例して増大するように設定するとともに、比例係数をアクセル開度、車速、エンジン回転数、及び電池500の充電率の少なくともいずれかに基づいて設定する。【選択図】図1
