PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve responsiveness in control to shift to a 4-WD travel, the control executed after determining a shift to the 4-WD travel.SOLUTION: In a case where a shift to a 4-WD travel is yet to be determined, and if a vehicle 10 is in a given travel state, engagement force of a coupling 54 can be controlled so as to set in the state of being ready to start to continuously increase a propeller shaft rotation speed Np, and therefore it is possible to improve responsiveness in controlling engagement force of the coupling 54 so as to start to continuously increase the propeller shaft rotation speed Np. In another view, the start to control the engagement force of the coupling 54 is set at timing different from when the shift to the 4-WD travel is determined (4-WD function-requiring timing), and therefore, it is possible, with enough time, to set the state of being ready to start to continuously increase the propeller shaft rotation speed. Accordingly, it is possible to improve responsiveness in the control to shift to the 4-WD travel, the control executed after determining a shift to the 4-WD travel.

    【課題】4WD走行への移行の判断時点後に実行する4WD走行への移行制御の応答性を向上させる。【解決手段】4WD走行への移行が未だ判断されていないときであって、車両10が所定走行状態であるときには、プロペラシャフト回転速度Npが連続的に上昇開始させられる直前の状態とされるようにカップリング54における係合力を制御できる為、プロペラシャフト回転速度Npを連続的に上昇開始させるようなカップリング54における係合力の制御応答性を改善することができる。見方を換えれば、カップリング54における係合力の制御開始を4WD走行への移行が判断された時点(4WD機能必須時点)としていない為、余裕を持って、プロペラシャフト回転速度Npを連続的に上昇開始させる直前の状態とすることができる。よって、4WD走行への移行の判断時点後に実行する4WD走行への移行制御の応答性を向上させることができる。【選択図】図3
