PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine start control device capable of improving security.SOLUTION: When transmitting a request signal into a cabin and receiving a return signal returned from a portable machine in response to the request signal, an engine start control device analyzes the return signal, performs key matching for making a judgment about validity for a vehicle key of the portable machine, and permits engine starting on condition that identification is made. The engine start control device comprises a collating ECU for permitting the engine starting on condition that the portable machine is in a reference registered position (e.g. a P-seat) in the cabin.

    【課題】セキュリティ性を向上することが可能なエンジン始動制御装置を提供すること。【解決手段】エンジン始動制御装置は、車室内にリクエスト信号を送信し、このリクエスト信号を受けて携帯機から返送された返送信号を受信すると、その返送信号を解析して携帯機の車両キーとしての妥当性を判断するキー照合を行い、照合一致したことを条件にエンジン始動を許可する。エンジン始動制御装置は、車室内の基準登録位置(例えばP席)に携帯機があることを条件に、エンジン始動を許可する照合ECUを備えている。【選択図】図2
