To control vehicle functions of a vehicle, at least one processing circuit (30) performs a fusion of vehicle sensor data (41) and map data (42). To ensure a Safety of the Intended Functionality (SOTIF), the at least one processing circuit (30) performs a situation analysis to detect a situation that has a potential to impact safety of the vehicle. The at least one processing circuit (30) adjusts at least one confidence value based at least on the situation analysis. The at least one confidence value determines a relative impact of the vehicle sensor data (41) and the map data (42) in performing the fusion. The at least one processing circuit (30) causes at least one function to be performed that is determined based on the fusion.
