The invention relates to an electronic control steering method and system for a vehicle. The vehicle comprises an electric control steering system, the electric control steering system comprises a hydraulic control system, steering knuckle arms arranged at all steering wheels and hydraulic wheel cylinders connected with all the steering knuckle arms through piston rods, and the method comprises the steps that steering parameters are received, the steering parameters comprise a steering input torque, a steering input angle, a vehicle speed, a transverse acceleration of the vehicle and actual piston positions of pistons of all hydraulic wheel cylinders; based on the steering parameters, determining a target steering radius of the vehicle and a target piston position of a piston of each hydraulic wheel cylinder; and based on the determined target piston position, the hydraulic control system is controlled to change the hydraulic pressure in each hydraulic wheel cylinder so as to change the position of the piston, so that the steering knuckle arms connected with the piston rods are driven by the piston rods to enable the corresponding steering wheels to deflect for steering.
