The climbing device is suitable for a power transmission line iron tower and can ascend and descend along the iron tower body angle steel; in the state that any part of the rear arm or the front arm of the climbing robot is fixed to iron tower angle steel, the other arm is rotated by controlling the steering system, and then the climbing robot can be controlled to climb from an iron tower main material to a transverse partition material in a switching mode.
