The method comprises the steps that state information of the vehicle is obtained; determining a target working mode from a plurality of preset modes according to the state information; and the multiple gear shifting clutches are controlled according to the target working mode so as to control the operation state of the hybrid power system. According to the technical scheme, the multiple gear shifting clutches are used for replacing a synchronizer to achieve the gear shifting function, the obvious pause feeling caused by gear shifting is avoided, and the smoothness in the vehicle driving process and the comfort degree of a driver and passengers are improved.
