The invention provides a protection system and an underwater robot. The protection system comprises an MOS switch. A pre-charge circuit; the real-time current acquisition circuit is connected with the MOS switch and the pre-charging circuit so as to provide the voltage of the power supply to a load for power supply, and is also used for acquiring the trunk current flowing into the pre-charging circuit and outputting a first signal; the overcurrent protection unit is used for receiving the reference voltage transmitted by the real-time current acquisition circuit, detecting the load voltage of the load and outputting a second signal to the MOS switch under the condition that the load voltage is smaller than the reference voltage; the microcontroller is connected with the real-time current acquisition circuit and the overcurrent protection unit, is used for receiving a first signal sent by the real-time current acquisition circuit, is also used for receiving a third signal sent by the overcurrent protection unit under the condition that the load voltage is greater than or equal to the reference voltage, and responds to the first signal or the third signal. And outputting the fourth signal to an over-current protection unit, so that the over-current protection unit outputs a fifth signal to an MOS switch, and the MOS switch is closed.
