The embodiment of the invention provides a monitoring system for a rail train braking system, and the monitoring system comprises a data collection module which is used for collecting the pressure data of each monitoring point in each braking subsystem to obtain a pressure data set, and each braking subsystem is provided with three monitoring points; the fault diagnosis module is used for outputting a fault diagnosis result based on the pressure data set, and the fault diagnosis result comprises a fault position and a fault type of the rail train braking system; and the fault prediction model is used for outputting a fault prediction result based on the pressure data set when the fault diagnosis module outputs a fault diagnosis result, and the fault prediction result comprises a fault level and a fault degradation trend corresponding to the fault type. According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, intelligent fault diagnosis can be carried out on the braking system of the rail train, so that the maintenance efficiency is improved.
