It is proposed a computer-implemented method for predicting the future development of a traffic scene, comprising the steps of: aggregating scene-specific information of the traffic scene, transforming said scene-specific information into variables of a multivariate probability distribution (13) of potential features using a pre-trained encoder network (12), selecting samples (16) of a multivariate probability distribution (13) of potential features determined by said parameters, and transforming each selected sample (16) into an output set (18) using a pre-trained decoder network (17). According to the invention, the samples (16) are deterministically selected in such a way that each selected sample (16) represents an own region of a multivariate probability distribution (13) of the potential feature, and the probability distribution (13) is sampled in a latticed manner by means of all selected samples (16).
