The invention proposes a computer-implemented system (100) for predicting the future development of a traffic scene (10), whereby the significance of the prediction can be achieved and the computational expenditure of the prediction can be limited. To this end, the system comprises: a. A perceptual layer (110) for aggregating scene-specific information of an ingress scene; b. A backbone network (120) for generating a feature set (130) of potential features based on the scene-specific information; c. A classifier (140) that evaluates a specified number of different patterns for future development of the ingress scene based on the feature set (130); and d. For each mode, there is a prediction module (161-164, 170) for generating a prediction for a future development of the ingress scene, where at least one prediction module (161-164, 170) can be selectively activated.
